We pledge to protect life at its beginning by:
- Initiating and supporting a Declaration of Personhood, affirming personhood
from conception until natural death to ensure the protection of constitutional
rights for all innocent human beings
- Updating Pennsylvania's Abortion Control Act to reflect advances in
medical technology. Since we now routinely save infants born 20 weeks after
conception, abortions done after that point are really infanticides and
should be immediately outlawed.
- Vigorously enforcing the Abortion Control Act's transfer agreement
requirements between local hospitals and free-standing abortion clinics
so no woman is unnecessarily injured by a break in treatment
- Extending "conscience clause" protections to pharmacists
who can not prescribe contraceptives and/or abortifacients without violating
their religious beliefs
- Requiring that women considering abortion be provided, by the physician
committing the abortion, with the most up-to-date medical information on
all of the risks involved in the specific procedure they are about to undergo
- Prohibiting human cloning
- Vigorously enforcing the 24 hour waiting period contained in the Abortion
Control Act
We pledge to protect life at its end by:
- Initiating and supporting legislation to uphold universally accepted
medical standards for defining death, as follows:
| No one shall be declared dead unless the respiratory and the circulatory
systems and the entire brain, have been destroyed. Such destruction shall
be determined in accord with universally accepted medical standards. |
- Actively opposing physician imposed death
- Establishing a hot line to report abuses against the seriously ill
or injured
- Ensuring that whistle blowers are extended full legal protection
