| Warning!
Beware of Manipulative Polls !! |
| (a warning from Robin Bernhoft, Peg's campaign manager) |
| |
 |
| |
| |
| The Republican pollster, G. Terry Madonna, has said he will be doing a poll later this week which will show Luksik ahead of Itkin, but way behind Ridge. How does he know what his poll will show?
Did he arrange the results in advance? (Polls can be easily cooked to produce any desired result but there is generally no way for outsiders to prove it.) |
| |
| This has been an unusual election, for its virtual absence of polls.
There must be a reason.
In a normal campaign you see fresh polls published every week.
In early October, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette released a poll collected August 28 - a five week old poll (!) which showed Ridge way in front and Peg trailing Itkin.
Yesterday, a three week old poll (!) was released showing similar numbers.
Why publish old polls? - "News" is supposed to be new.
Could it be that the real numbers now - after weeks of Peg ads on every statewide broadcast TV channel (and after Peg's clear victory in both debates) - are - unfit for public consumption?" |
| |
| It would seem the Republicans are getting desperate.
They know our supporters are motivated, and will vote, while Ridge's are not and may stay home.
Their only remaining weapon is manipulative polls.
But we can use that weapon against them. |
| |
| If Terry Madonna finds what everyone is seeing - that Peg is way ahead of Itkin and breathing down Ridge's neck (whether he reports it that way, or not) - then we have a great opportunity to use this poll against the Republicans.
For one thing, people worried about "wasting their vote" would waste it voting for Itkin.
For Democrats who want to get rid of Ridge, or for Republicans unhappy with his tax or abortion policies, "A vote for anyone but Peg, is a vote for Ridge."
Because Ivan can't win. |
| |
| Personally, from the explosion of support we have been getting from all corners of the state the last two weeks (and from every neighborhood in Philadelphia) I think Peg is probably in front of Ridge, or close to it.
And the only remaining weapon the Republicans have is bogus polling |
| |
| We need to tell everyone we know that we predict the Republicans will publish a Terry Madonna poll showing Ridge way ahead, and Peg in second place. And remind them that even that poll (which almost certainly under estimates her support for the reasons given above) shows that a vote for Luksik is a vote for Luksik - a vote for anybody but Luksik is a vote for Ridge.
And Ridge has got to go. |

| |
| Spread the word, and we'll see you at the victory party next Tuesday night. |
